HARARE – GetBucks Microfinance Bank managing director Mercy Murevesi has stepped down from her position as she pursues a regional posting a large African Multinational financial institution.
Murevesi stepped down with effect from August 31, 2018 and will be replaced by Terence Mudangwe.
“The board of directors announces the resignation of Mercy Muchando-Murevesi from the company and board of directors with effect from 31 August 2018. The board thanks Mercy for leading the institution from its credit only microfinance days to a commanding microfinance bank and wishes her well in her endeavours.
“The Board wishes to advise the appointment of Mr Terrence Mudangwe to the role of managing director of the bank,” said GetBucks.
The new managing director, Mudungwe is a career banker with more than 25 years banking experience which has seen him working for several financial institutions inclusive of Standard Chartered Bank Zimbabwe, Barclays Bank Zimbabwe, Heritage Investment Bank Zimbabwe and First Merchant Bank Zimbabwe.
He has also served in the region at Standard Chartered Bank Uganda and BancABC in Botswana, Mozambique, Tanzania and Zambia in various capacities including managing director.
On his return to Zimbabwe from his 10-year stint in Botswana in 2008 he assumed the position of Group Deputy Managing Director for BancABC Zimbabwe.
The GetBucks Board also announced the appointment of Patience Moyo and Godwin Nyengedza to the board with effect from 24 August 2018.
They replace Peter Saungweme and Glovah Madzima who chaired the board.
