HARARE – The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe (ICAZ) and Chartered Institute of Management (CIMA) have partnered in program that will assist students from both institutions to have quicker access to dual qualifications of CA (Z) and CIMA.
The arrangement is driven by the desire to ensure that professionals of both organisations have an opportunity to boost their skills set with recognition of prior learning from both professions.
Representing the two bodies ICAZ senior vice President Fungai Kuipa highlighted that the initiative would help professionals to keep up with the ever evolving trends of accounting profession.
“The agreement gives an opportunity to existing members of the two professional bodies to augment their skills for the dynamic business environment that calls for continuous learning whilst affording them the opportunity to recognise prior learning and experience.
“This will ensure that the accounting profession in Zimbabwe will keep up with the rapidly changing world of business and give the market relevant skills and expertise drawn from the two professional bodies,” said Mr Kuipa.
The two bodies say the signing is not new in the region as CIMA has in place a similar one with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) whose examination processes are closely linked to that of ICAZ.
Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe is a Zimbabwean professional accountancy organisation while The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants is a UK based professional body offering training and qualification in management accountancy and related subjects.
It is focused on accountants working in industry, and provides ongoing support and training for members.
