Financial Markets Indaba (FMI) in conjunction with Business Weekly, will in November host the Capital Markets Awards in recognition of achievements and performances in various segments of the markets and exchanges landscape of Zimbabwe’s Financial Sector.

FMI managing director Patrick Muzondo, said the prestigious inaugural awards recognise excellence in institutions and individuals that have demonstrated a superior business strategy based on strong underlying fundamentals.

They should also highlight emerging best practices in establishing robust market structures and identify challenges in executing sound operational processes, which market participants can both learn and benefit from.

The awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday 10 November 2021 a Five Star hotel in  Harare, Zimbabwe.

“The Capital Markets Awards are unique. They are the only awards that recognise achievements in all the main segments of the capital markets through a poll of market participants. They truly reflect the opinion of the market. The awards perform a valuable function, enabling the market to reflect on what worked and what did not in the past year, celebrating the most impressive performers. Winners are determined following an exhaustive evaluation of submissions along with on-site research and interviews conducted by our research team,” said Muzondo.

Among the categories are Best Performing Listed Company of the Year in recognition of a company that demonstrates it is a responsible, fully accountable, dynamic business with strong growth prospects. Above all, the winner will be a serious, well-managed business, having attracted public funding to enhance and develop its growth potential to the full.

The awards ceremony will also recognise Best Wealth Manager of the Year where judges will consider professional progression and performance and will also take into account factors including passion for the sector, excellence in their role, improvements to existing processes or products; engagement in industry-wide initiatives and helping promote the investment company sector more widely.

Best Stockbroker of the Year is an award that looks at professional progression and performance and will also take into account factors including passion for the sector, excellence in their role, improvements to existing processes or products and engagement in industry-wide initiatives.
