NetOne has unveiled OneGaming, a new product set to improve access to Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) as the Mobile Network Operator (MNO) moves to grow its market share.

One Gaming is an online platform that gives access to over 1000 games that can be opened through a click and play facility by NetOne subscribers.

The gaming platform allows people to choose the subscription packages they can afford from as little as $20 for daily subscription, $50 for weekly, and ZWL$100 for a monthly subscription.

Speaking during the launch, Nyaradzai Shoko (Executive Retail and Sales) said the platform is free to access on a smartphone “but to play, you choose your subscription package.”

He said the platform targets to improve the livelihoods of all the youths through rewarding the top winners.

“Top 5 winners from top 5 popular games win ZWL$2 000 every week, top five monthly winners will get ZWL$10 000 each and top five from top 5 selected games will be rewarded ZWL$20 000.

“This is the only platform that pays back to its customers,” he said.

NetOne Chief Operating Officer, Jeremiah Munembe said the MNO remains committed to its vision and mission of transforming lives and developing communities through communication solutions.

NetOne indicated that it is focusing on offering a diverse portfolio of Value-Added-Services to the various customer segments including HTML5 gaming services to the subscribers through OneGaming, connecting people across the nation.

“OneGaming will without doubt bridge the rural and urban divide, tapping into the ever-increasing smartphone and tablet penetration. The deployment of the 3G/4G network through the recently launched NMBB Phase 3 project, has proved that ICT technologies can improve user experience,” said Munembe.

Speaking at the launch, Vice Board Chairperson, Engineer Gibbson Jumbi said regardless of location, NetOne facilitates universal connectivity through OneGaming, an exciting gaming solution for the gaming market.

“Our objective is to provide NetOne subscribers with a gaming platform that gives them an option to select and play highly engaging Android and HTML5 games. The games can be played on any mobile device and have compatibility across browsers and platforms be it android or IOS or other WAP browsers,” he said.

He noted that the ever-increasing smartphone penetration is shaping the gaming market structure therefore their focus is to tap into the space and increase subscriber engagement by providing a gaming service that has been neglected for a long time.

“NetOne is on a growth trajectory, and we continue to cement our position as the number one digital solutions network,” he said.

The mobile gaming market is the largest subsection of the mobile industry with 73 percent of adults playing mobile games worldwide

In 2020, the mobile gaming market generated US$75 billion in revenue, which equates to 51 percent of the worldwide revenue for digital gaming.

Going forward, the revenue is expected to show an annual growth rate of 15, 07 percent.
